WOODLANDS

2006-Present

Woodlands is a series of images shot in the hills of Grafton, Illinois, on the property of my wife's family.  Over the last decade, my family and I have moved all over the country and experienced a fair amount of upheaval.  This is one of the few places that genuinely feels like home and serves as a refuge from the rest of the world's insanity.  As a native of the suburbs, these woods still seem very wild and untamed to me.  Every visit here provides a closer connection to nature, both its beauty and its harsh realities.
