"The things that are close to you are things you can photograph the best. And unless you photograph what you love, you are not going to make good art." - Sally Mann
My relationship with parenting is one that is fraught with contradictions. In a single day with my children I will condemn how quickly time passes while also begging and pleading that they figure out how to grow up just a little bit faster. Some days seem to last far too long, yet each year seems to evaporate far too rapidly. In the muddy minutiae of parenting, it is easy to lose perspective, it is easy to forget to be grateful. These photographs remind me what is important. They remind me to enjoy the present and to embrace the beautiful insanity of modern family life.
