MEMENTO MORI

2007-2010

These objects and animals serve as a reminder of our own mortality and transience.  Whether it is a living, breathing being or an inanimate object, every entity experiences its own slow march toward eradication and dissolution.  While there can certainly be a level of repulsion associated with some of these images, for me there is a level of calm and quiet to them as well.  I see them as elegies, tributes to creatures and relics that have been left to dissolve into the earth.
